The Norwegian Support Committee for Western Sahara (NSCWS)
is an organisation working for a peaceful solution to the Western Sahara conflict.
founded in 1993.
works on political lobbying and information work, excersizing pressure on international companies in the occupied areas, and facilitates support to the refugee camps and to human rights activists in occupied Western Sahara.
The Norwegian Support Committee offers to the press
latest updates on the development of the conflict.
recent photos from the occupied areas and from the refugee camps, for free.
facilitates contact to potential sources (human rights activists in Western Sahara, members of the Western Sahara government, researchers, legal experts, Norwegian politicians etc.)
facilitates research and reportage journeys (practical advices for trips to the refugee camps and to the occupied areas).
Since 1975, three quarters of the territory of Western Sahara has been occupied by Morocco. A majority of the population is still living in refugee camps in Algeria. Those who remained in their homeland are subjected to serious harassment from the Moroccan occupiers. For more than 40 years the Sahrawis have been waiting for the fullfilment of their legitimate right to self-determination.
